Mike Donovan urges SCOTUS to help bring immigrant families out of the shadows
Verona, VA – Today, the Supreme Court of the United States began hearing arguments in the United States v. Texas suit that attempts to roll back President Obama’s 2014 executive orders on immigration, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA). The DAPA and DACA programs directed law enforcement agencies to focus on threats to national security and allow law-abiding immigrants who are the parents of children who are legal U.S. residents to temporarily stay and work in the United States if they pass a background check, pay taxes, and have lived in the country for at least five years.

We hope that the Court sees through the plaintiffs’ political rhetoric and understands that the President’s executive orders were an appropriate and responsible way to respond to a national crisis in the face of congressional inaction.”
